Allopatric speciation is speciation that happens when two populations of the same species become isolated from each other due to geographic changes.

adaptive radiation 은 sympatric speciation의 한 종류입니다. geographic barrier 없이 같은 땅에 사는데 ( geographically isolated 되지 않았는데 ) 종분화가 일어나는 경우이지요. 다양한 niches 가 가능한 지역에서 하나의 ancestral species에서 다양한 종이 각가의 환경, 자원에 맞는 form 을 가진 애들로 빠르게 분화되는 경우를 말합니다. 

adaptive radiation is a process in which organisms diversify rapidly from an ancestral species into a multitude of new forms, particularly when a change in the environment makes new resources available, alters biotic interactions or opens new environmental niches.
