In question 40, I selected "negative reinforcement" because I thought that decreasing the grandparents' attention would reinforce the child's controlled behaviour (meaning less tantrums).
My understanding of "extinction" is that it is when the CS no longer elicits the CR. I'm having trouble relating this to the child's situation with her grandparents. What would be the CS and the CR in this case?

Extinction does not only relate to classical conditioning. The terminology is also used for operant conditioning as well.
So in this case, the "response" of tantrum would be "extinct" because there is no "reinforcement".
