Hello, Mr. Bae!

I have finished listening to your reading lecture for two times.

I am planning to work on the ten official tests now.


I have a question on 44.

It is the word choice question. 

Through reading the context, I thought 'practically' meant 'actually/ in fact'. 

The context is describing the effect of Bank's policy.

I still think these prediction are valid for 

actually means as the truth or facts of a situation. In the context, it can used like 'in truth reduce into slavery."

But the problem I faced is that there is no answer choice which has a similar meaning with actually. 

If this is the case, the POE is my tool right?Or should I try to understand the passage more precisely?

First of all, I just have to say, "WOW!" TWO TIMES?! That is really impressive. And I'm glad you are moving to the 10 official tests. Great move =)

 

Next, your prediction is on the right track! actually/in fact is meant to express a fundamental truth. That is what "essentially" means! =) Essentially means basically, or foundationally as the basis of something that is true. You are doing well; you just have to learn to be a little more "flexible" by choosing an answer that most closely matches your prediction. But your prediction itself was spot on! Stay confident in yourself~ Trust the process.
