Hello, Mr. Bae!

Thank you for the advice on my SAT journey.

I'll keep going though there is yet no vaccine in the country I live in :(

I am struggling with Diction questions.

I get along with the Tone types well, however, the precision types become tricky sometimes.

I trying to get used to the precision type, by learning to balance my English senses and the logical judgments based on the tips you taught me.

There are couple questions I want to ask you, but I will try to figure those out later after answering more diction questions through SAT practice.

But I still want to know more detailed version of how 'you' approach these questions.

For instance,

On the 2nd Precision question on this lecture,

the context clue was gulp and 'nearly anything to drink for entire day'.

I thought 'breathlessly drink' could make sense too. If you drink without breathing, doesn't it mean that you are eagerly drinking?

Or maybe this is my own interpretation.

Also,

On the Diction question lecture, question 11,

I was confused between A and C. While my language senses told me that "strong" is the answer, my logical sense told me "impactful" is correct.

The spice could have have a big influence on the taste right? That is how I thought. But I knew usually, taste is used with adjective strong if used in this sense.

Is it again my own interpretation?

If my problem is about my own interpretation, I overcame it on the reading section.

Can you give me additional tips/explanations for getting over these confusion?

Hey Haewon!

I'm glad the advice helped =)

Great Questions!

For your first question, your reasoning is correct: "breathlessly drinking" literally means drinking without breathing. So yes, you would be adding your own interpretation if you think it means eagerly drinking. =) Remember to keep the meaning as close to the literal definition as possible.

For your second question, again...your reasoning is right: taste is associated with words like "strong" (a strong taste). You are adding your own interpretation once again. hehe...you can apply the "staying literal" and "avoiding your own interpretation" strategy for the precision questions, too! =) I'm glad you overcame that hurdle for the reading section...and I'm sure you'll overcome it for these questions too!

You got this Haewon!
