안녕하세요. 


3-3 리딩, "The Long-Term Stability of Ecosystems" 에 대한 질문입니다. 


1. 7문단 내용이 이해가 잘 안 됩니다. patchiness가 long-term stability 를 결정 짓는다는데, patchiness랑 diversity가 다른게 뭔지 잘 모르겠습니다. 둘 다 variety of organisms 아닌가요? 


2. Summary Question 관련 질문입니다. 3번, the level of resilience in a plant community contributes to its long-term stability 가 왜 답인가요? paragraph 4에서 "stability"가 "resilience"로 해석될 수 있다고만 했으니 정확히 contribute하는지는 모르는것 아닌가요?

지문을 좀더 제대로 읽어야 할것 같아

 

A local population that goes extinct is quickly replaced by immigrants from an adjacent community.

patchiness 의 포인트는 environment that varies from place to place 하기 때문에 특정 지역의 local population 이 멸종을 한다고 하더라도

바로 옆에 있는 애들로 인해서 그 구간이 채워질수 있다고 하는게 포인트야

 

2. 방금 얘기한 patchiness 가 level of of resilience 로 paraphrase 되어 있는거야

resilience 가 뭐였지?

the speed with which an ecosystem returns to a particular form following a major disturbance

 

patchiness 를 보면 다시 쉽게 restore/return 할수 있는 능력을 주지?
