This is a highly unfair question to the exam takers.
Take a look at the question. It is almost a trick question desgined to trap students into picking choice A.
It is asking about the "information" in endnote, not the endote or italicized phrase itself. We know that endnote itself is on the cited pages, but there is no way of knowing for sure whether the 'information' in endnote is on the cited pages as well. Do you see the trap?
If the question had said " Which of the following statements about endnote 1 is correct?" then A would be a good answer. However, it does not. Rather, it asks about the information in endnote 1.
So, what can we surmise from "information" in endnote? Only thing we can say is that it was published in a book.
When you come across a question that seems to have 2 right answers, read the question carefully. There will be a word or a phrase in the question that will give you a hint in choosing the right answer.
Hope this helps
