Question 9 in the passage Great Expectations asks what the narrator's perspective is on the pale young man.

But the answer B)speculative is referring to the narrator's behavior towards the young man, 

since you said the evidence was that it states 'it seemed...", not how he thinks of the young man. 

In other words, the answer "speculative" is referring to the narrator not his perspective on the man, right? 

So shouldn't the answer be more towards the young man's character, which would be A)deferential?

You make a good point, but you need to read the question more carefully.^^

The question mentions the phrase "concluding perspective"

and the only description of the narrator's perspective on the young man in the conclusion

is that he "seemed brave and innocent."
