Hi, could you please explain in further detail why the mean of a density curve is shifted to the direction of the skew?
---------------------------
An example I like using is the mean age of a kindergarten class.
let's say there are 10 children, all of age 6. the mean age is 6.
now comes a granny, who never went to kindergarten, she wants to experience it. her age is 60.
what's the mean age now? 120/11 = close to 11 years.
what's the median age? still 6.
so mean shifts towards outliers.
