Title [Brian Rhee] 질문입니다
15 Lesson_5_Relationships between two categorical variables_2 15

안녕하세요 선생님 문제풀이에 대한 질문이 있습니다. 한국어로 설명하기 어려워 영어로 쓸게요!

I don't exactly understand how I should determine if there is a relationship btn the variables.

I tried to compute percentages of each numbers, but I don't know what I should put in the denominator. Should it be the row total or the column total. Does it matter which one I put in? I tried doing both of them ( I attached an image to this showing my work ). I do not exactly understand which version of % I need to look at to find the relationshp. They seem to give me two different answers as the yellow 1 box shows that 30-60 yr old ppl live in uban and suburban, but it doesn't show this trend in the yellow 2 box.

알려주실수 있나요?

감사합니다!

안녕하세요 이연욱 샘입니다.

The marginal distributions ( for entire rows or entire columns) are calculated in the following ways.

1. For entire columns

Each marginal distribution is given by row total/ table total

2. For entire rows

Each marginal distribution is given by column total/table total

However, the conditional distributions are calculated for one row or one column.

감사합니다.
